ATS Asphalt Binder Engineer Earns PE License!

ATS Asphalt Binder Engineer Swathi Theeda officially earned her Professional Engineering (PE) License in the state of Florida this month! This accomplishment is a notable milestone in Swathi’s career that reflects her unwavering dedication, expertise, and commitment to the field of civil engineering.

Earning one’s Professional Engineering License is no small feat! It involves years of education, experience, and preparation – and that is just to sit for the exam! It requires a strong work ethic, dedication, and a commitment to lifelong learning. Specific requirements include:

  • Earn Bachelor’s Degree (preferably relevant to Engineering) from an ABET-accredited university
  • 4 years of engineering experience
  • Pass PE exam
  • Submit PE references

Through her work and continued education, Swathi has proven her dedication to her profession and her passion to advance the asphalt industry. At ATS she was responsible for overseeing and developing its fully accredited asphalt binder lab. She also consults with existing and potential clients to provide solution paths while she spearheads research and development of new and existing products to identify possible growth opportunities. Swathi is a member of the 2024 LEAP program through the Asphalt Emulsion Manufacturers Association, and when she is not working you can find her doing CrossFit or hiking in one of our nation’s national parks.
